This week, as with many weeks, I started with a mechanic I wanted to explore – in this case, surviving by finding cover. The obvious scenario that lends itself to this mechanic is, of course, rocks and bombs tumbling down a waterfall. And naturally with a premise like that, you simply can’t name the game anything other than Waterfall Bomb. (Yes, it’s been a long week.)
I suppose this game could be thought of as the opposite of last week’s Core Breach, in a way. But this is not last week. This is this week, and that means you get to play Waterfall Bomb.
Game 11: Waterfall Bomb,
Me likey! Surprisingly challenging.
It blows my mind how you can make games so unique, yet so simple, yet so satisfying at the same time, week after week!
Very entertaining. I, like Skofo, love how you always seem to come up with functional, new game mechanics — the kind where you get better with practice, like it should be. So many game developers can’t even seem to do that once.
Yet another awesome game. However, I think I may enjoy it more if the arrow keys controlled my dot rather than the mouse (though the difficulty and speed would have to adjust in compensation for the fact)
I love the concept though, avoiding the blasts is fun
I think this is your best yet (well, this or Wavespark). I, myself, really like the mouse control (although it’s trackpad control for me since I play it on a laptop). It’s frustratingly precise and very immersive. Standard arrow key controls would make the game lose something, I think. But I’m clearly in the minority. Anyway, I keep coming back to play this game. I find it really fantastic. I think an iPad version would be extraordinary (not that I own one.)
